Core Barrel Assembly | How does core drilling work?

How core drilling works. Soft coring uses a punch system. This involves using two buckets, one nested inside the other. The inner barrel is pushed forward to capture the core sample, then the outer barrel is extended to provide the casing so the hole does not collapse.
Core drills can penetrate a variety of surface types. It cuts through cement, wood, rock and ice. It traverses the surface with a twisting motion to create holes. Different drills need to be installed for each surface for optimum performance.
